Ramon currently serves as MJP’s Director of NextGen, working daily with the MJP coaching staff to ensure they are implementing the correct training methodologies desired by MJP. Previously, Ramon had the opportunity to participate in the MJP internship program where he spent 12 intense weeks involved in every aspect of training, athlete care, and education at MJP. Upon completion, Ramon was hired as a Performance Specialist. Due to his hard work and ability to manage the science behind athleticism, he was promoted to the Youth Athlete Coordinator and later, Director of NextGen.
Additionally, Ramon continues to work on a number of projects for Nike’s product development and marketing teams. Ramon has also represented MJP on an international scale, traveling around the world teaching coaches the latest training methodologies for youth athletes.
Prior to coaching at Michael Johnson Performance, Ramon grew up on the Jersey Shore playing basketball, nearly every track and field event, and practiced martial arts. He graduated magna cum laude from Montclair State University with a B.S. in Physical Education. After graduating college, he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He worked as an Athlete Performance Specialist at Parisi Speed School in Fair Lawn, New Jersey for 4 years where he trained athletes of all ages from a wide variety of sports.
Ramon also served as a consultant for Parisi Speed School corporate where he helped develop new training methodologies for young athlete programs which were then implemented into their 80+ franchises across the country. He also led the internship program, where he helped aspiring coaches apply knowledge from their schooling onto the training floor. During his time at Parisi Speed School, he got the privilege of being a coach for Nike’s Football Society where he got to work with athletes in NYC. Ramon has over a dozen published articles on athletic development for coaches, athletes and parents.
