MJP’s NextGen is an Athletic Development Program designed for young athletes and is centered around the personalized training philosophy of Olympic gold medalist, Michael Johnson. With progressive methods, we take athletes with raw talent and develop their fundamentals to help them excel across all sports in which they compete.
Our programs are based on years of research and scientific exploration. (AGES 6-8)
INTRODUCTION AND AWARENESS PHASE. Designed to introduce the youngest of athletes to all areas of athletic development in a fun & positive training environment. We focus on increasing movement awareness, coordination, speed & agility. This sets up a solid athletic foundation & establishes the building blocks of superior athleticism.

(AGES 9-11)
FOUNDATION PHASE. Designed to introduce all components of athletic training in a positive learning environment. Drills and applications are used to teach skills, while keeping athletes attentive and maximizing effort. Athletes should come away from this program with improved athleticism and a positive attitude toward training.

TRANSITION PHASE. This program is designed to take advantage of the growth spurt and natural changes of an athlete’s body. We focus on change of direction, acceleration, and power training. We work on developing flexibility to combat physical growth issues, as well as enhancing speed, strength, power, agility & stamina.

GAME TIME PHASE. You have to stand out from the crowd so you can’t do what everyone else is doing. Metrics and on-the-field performance are important when competing for starting positions and scholarships. In this program we focus on speed, strength, stamina, bio-mechanics, and preparation for the next stage of your career.

SPORT-SPECIFIC TRAINING. These training programs follow our scientifically proven training philosophies, but provide more specific modalities needed to perform at a top level in your desired sport.
Increase agility and explosiveness with vertical training.
Performance training developed to benefit lateral quickness and endurance.
Skills coached by a former D1 basketball coach, skills training with shooting development, and on-court basketball IQ.

PERSONAL TRAINING. Scheduled at your convenience and modeled after our High School and College Prep programs, we focus on movement, strength, and power, but customize the training to place more emphasis on particular areas of concern to the athlete.
