One of MJP’s core values is technology, and we work hard every day to bring innovation to our athletes. One of the ways we do this is through partnerships with cutting-edge companies like Nike. Nike has been a partner with MJP since 2007. Because Nike saw an opportunity in MJP to learn more about athletes and produce better products, the Nike team established an extension of its famed Nike Sport research Lab (NSRL) inside the MJP Headquarters facility in McKinney, Texas. Staffed by a full-time Nike sports researcher, the NSRL at MJP is Nike’s major extension of its original lab at the world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
Our partnership not only gives Nike the access to MJP’s unique athlete population for product insight and innovation, but gives MJP access to Nike’s learnings and data collected over the last 30 years. Recent research conducted at MJP lead to the development of the Nike Future Flight and Nike Future Speed training shoe.
Through the NSRL, MJP is now offering free baseline foot assessments for all NextGen athletes. This assessment includes a 3D foot scan, and foot pressure map. Each athlete will receive a report that looks like the one below, providing more detail about the scan. The information included in the report will help athletes and parents better understand the athlete’s foot function and shape, which can help when making future footwear purchases. The data will also be used to help Nike better understand youth athletes’ feet, helping Nike create better footwear for kids.
There is no cost for this assessment and it will take about 10 minutes to complete. There will be one session available Monday through Friday, with only five athletes in each session. If you have any questions or to sign up for this complimentary foot scan, simply call MJP and we will schedule your athlete’s foot assessment.
