On January 30, Michael Johnson made his way back to his high school alma mater, Skyline High School. It was on this campus that he rediscovered his passion for sport, after sitting out a year to focus on academics. This visit’s intent: motivation, inspiration, donation.
Once he decided to return to sports, Johnson realized he could be successful in both athletics and academics, but it would take dedication and smart choices. Thus, beginning his journey to becoming the 13-time Olympic and World Championship gold medalist we know him as today.
Fast forward to 2018 and Johnson finds himself back at Skyline High School, but this time as a supporter of athletes. In conjunction with Muscle Milk, Johnson presented a $15,000 check for the campus athletics department.
“I love being an inspiration. It’s important for the young people to know it’s all about the decisions they make,” Johnson said.
Current members of the Skyline High School boys and girls track and field teams gathered at a meet-and-great to accept the donation on behalf of their fellow student-athletes. Two seniors in the track program, Blake and A’cquacia, agree Johnson’s presence is inspiration that no goal is beyond their reach.
Michael Johnson, and Michael Johnson Performance are proud with great brands like Muscle Milk. We are grateful to be able to work in conjunction with companies like this to help build and inspire the next generation of athletes.
