As we start the new year I always like to reflect on the last year. Personally, it was a milestone year for me, turning 50 in September! For MJP in 2017 we celebrated the completion of ten years of business. Having launched the company just before the start of the Great Recession, we count ourselves lucky to have not only survived for ten years but having actually thrived during that time. 2017 saw our company continue to grow in volume of athletes supported, and continued expansion of our global presence with the launch of our first coach education seminar in China. The most exciting development over the last year was the improvement on our already stellar youth training results. Over the last 10 years, MJP has maintained an industry leading 2% – 3% improvement per week in athletic improvement. But last year we surprised even ourselves accomplishing an average improvement per week of 5%.
Looking ahead to 2018, I believe athletes will continue to look for more innovative ways to improve their athleticism. No different than other industries that have been disrupted with technology making everyday tasks quicker, simpler, and easier, athletes are looking for this same revolution in training. While technology might soon make cars self-driving and cash obsolete, athletes will always need to train. Nothing will take the place of the hard, physical work of training. But at MJP we’ve always believed that merely training hard isn’t enough if you’re not training smart. And we are constantly working with our partners to find and develop the latest technology to make training more effective and more efficient for even better results.
2018 will bring some exciting announcements from MJP, including global and domestic expansion of the MJP brand with new MJP branded training facilities, the worldwide launch of MJP’s coach education business, and some exciting new technologies added to our toolbox. Stay tuned for exciting announcements to come!
